Albemarle County will have at least two candidates for Commonwealth's Attorney this year. Defense attorney Denise Lunsford (above) spent Tuesday officially launching her campaign for the Democrats' nomination. She hopes to become her party's nominee on May 14th. Lunsford is challenging four-term Republican incumbent Jim Camblos. She contends a level of trust has to be established in the Commonwealth's Attorney's office. Albemarle voters will elect someone for this constitutional office on November 6th.
