Accomplishments
- Addressed bullying issues in Albemarle Middle and High schools proactively through education and through the prosecution of offenders
- Creation of an alliance of bank security officials and law enforcement agencies to cooperate in reducing bank fraud by sharing information and resources
- Addition of a Sheriff Department Reserve Deputy to assist with investigation and prosecution of citizen warrants
- Improvement of communication and cooperation between the Commonwealth Attorney’s Office and the Albemarle County Police Department, including the addition of CA office hours on site
- Worked with the Albemarle County Sheriff’s Department to provide legal information and training at Firearm Safety Classes
- Along with Martha Jefferson Hospital and the Albemarle County Police Department, coordinated Unwanted Medication Drop-Off days
- Community education of how the Criminal Justice system works via a class taught each fall through the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute
- Provided a new source of funding for the County of Albemarle by collecting overdue court costs and fines in house rather than by other means.
